2024 Biennial Symposium

The ITSCC symposium will once again be held at the Essex Conference Center and Retreat (ECCR) located on Cape Ann on Boston’s North Shore, just 45 minutes from downtown Boston. The 2024 ITSCC Symposium is a small, intimate, retreat-style educational meeting in a beautiful natural setting with available outdoor activities and good food. We will also be joined by some of our colleagues from SCOPE, making this a truly fun meeting with international flair!

Retreat Details

Attendance is limited to 40 people due to the capacity of the conference center; up to 10 of the 40 slots will go to SCOPE members.
Invitations to attend will be given to accepted abstract submitters who will give presentations on their ongoing work. Submit your abstract here.
Registration for the symposium is $850 for each person and covers room, food and beverages. Due to the limited budget, attendees will have the opportunity to provide a donation to provide for additional beverages and social activities. Scholarships are available for mentees in the IAMP program.
Attendees will have options to participate in working groups of their choice.
Due to the retreat style of this educational meeting, participants are expected to attend/participate for the full event.
Sleeping rooms will be shared and are assigned in advance. Bunkmate preferences will be provided with the invitation.

Call for Abstracts

Deadline for receipt of abstracts is April 30, 2024. In addition to the scientific focus outlined above, abstracts from clinical trials, basic science research studies, case series or interesting case reports are invited.

Please note: you must submit an abstract to be offered an invitation to register for the meeting. To create an environment of collegial scientific exchange, every prospective registrant is asked to submit an abstract. Submit your abstract here.

Invitations to register will be sent to those who have an accepted abstract in late May/early June.

Preliminary Agenda

Keynote Speakers: We are honored to feature a joint keynote address from Dr. Naoka Murakami and Dr. Ann Silk, discussing their pivotal findings of the CONTRAC-1 trial and sharing what is next for the use of immunotherapy in solid organ transplant recipients with advanced cutaneous malignancies.

Naoka Murakami, MD, PhD
Assistant Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School
Transplant Nephrology, Renal Division

Naoka Murakami, MD PhD, is Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and a transplant nephrologist at the Renal Division at the BWH. Her primary research focus is allograft tolerance and T cell immunobiology. Her research project has been supported by NIH and American Society of Nephrology. Her clinical focus is on the care for kidney transplant recipients with cancer (Transplant Onconephrology), in collaboration with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Ann Silk, MD

Scientific sessions will focus on aspects of cancer and other dermatologic diseases in immunosuppressed patients and transplant recipients, including epidemiology, immunology, cancer biology, and more. Submitted abstracts will be presented with time for robust and meaningful discussions.
Working Groups: Working group topics will be determined based on participant interest and time will be dedicated to defining projects and developing aims.
Learning from the leaders: Key thought leaders in the field of transplant dermatology will share their expertise.
Social Program: There will be a fun and adventurous social program organized by Dr. Catherine Pisano. The Essex retreat is a place to develop long-lasting friendships and professional relationships.
